VTubers are Streaming Porn on Splatoon 3 and S@#t is Hitting the Fan

You can’t trust anyone anymore. But today, such sentiment extends none more than to VTubers hijacking Splatoon 3 for porny purposes.

Splatoon is a first and thrid person shooter game that’s gained a lot of popularity as of late. But not all of that popularity is due to its dynamic graphics and slick gaming interface.

Nah…

Instead, it’s because Japanese streamers are pushing the boundaries of the game by way of inserting porn.

And shit is most definitely hitting the fan.

YouTube is banned their group, called Shinso-gumi, and Nintendo seems to want to go Law and Order on them.

What’s more bizarre is how Shinso-gumi achieved streaming porn in the first place.

In Splatoon 3, gamers leverage colorful inks as ammunition to be used on their enemies. In some of the games, you want to cover the screen as much as possible in the ink in order to come out victorious. You can set these colors to any you prefer. The Shinso-gumi group set theirs to a streaming software. And that’s where things go south.

Versions of Japanese Twitter took notice to the issue and the matter became a trending topic. And Shinso-gumi went on the run (proverbial running, that is). YouTube began a mass culling of groups and accounts as soon as it was tipped off.

Here’s the biggest issue: Splatoon is, by and large, a kids game. But why wasn’t the system secured in a way to prevent this from happening? That’s not to dismiss the seriously foul antics of the groups who partook in such activities; however, these days, big tech prides itself in security. The Splatoon 3 porn streaming incident is a massive slap in the face.

Nintendo is totally ticked (as they should be). So much so, they Tweeted out their copyright terms.

One of the culprits apologized.

We don’t read Japanese around these parts, so we’ll take the interpretations of others. That said, Nintendo Switch is getting an adult game. Though, that doesn’t lend this situation any excuses.

All the same, both YouTube and Nintendo have some work to do when it comes to security of their gaming initiatives. This incident is a huge black eye for both companies who now seem to be scrambling to find a solution that saves faces.

Hey freaks, let’s keep the porn in games where it belongs. Don’t be jerks. And don’t support jerk behavior.

Am I right?
