Get Ready Xbox Games Lovers. Call of Duty: Modern Warfare May Be Coming

Maybe it’s licensing agreements in shambles, or Activision wanting to prioritize selling the game individually or as part of a bundle rather than including it in a subscription service, or heck, maybe it’s some strategic timing play to extravagant for us to understand – but Call of Duty: Modern Warfare’s absence on Xbox Games is a notable one. But maybe not for long.

Insider Gaming reports, “several sources have suggested it will [come to Game Pass] in the latter half of this month.”

And actually, to be clear, none of the legacy COD’s are on Xbox’s main subscription experience. Alongside Modern Warfare, its rumored that Spyro Reignited Trilogy and Tony Hawk 1 and 2 may also make the cut.

Why is all this happening?

Well, it all comes down to Microsoft’s bold acquisition of Activision Blizzard King. As a core component of the deal, consumers should see more of their games with no more cost. We’ll see about that in the long term. But in shorter term, it appears to be on track.

The Call of Duty game franchise was a centerpiece of drama during the acquisition phase. The argument centered around antitrust accusations and fears. But Microsoft appears to be living up to its word and making more games available rather than less.
