Dead Island 2 is about to make its way to gaming consoles. And if its newest trailer is an indication of what’s to come, we’re gonna dig this experience. Yes, we know, it was supposed to come out last month but delays have pushed that into late April. All the same, its coming, and it looks pretty dope.
Deep Silver and Dambuster Studios released the official Game Play on YouTube yesterday and lets just say, the world is on notice. Of course, Dead Island 2 has a Mature rating (17+), and that’s because it’s a pretty intense horrific gaming experience.
I mean, bro…
Zombie bro works out.
So what’s happening?
Well, its the sequel to the 2011 original Dead Island, obviously. Not “obviously, there’s actually 3 Dead Islands – don’t ask.”
A murderous bride roams the streets of Los Angeles and takes no prisoners. The suburbs of LA, specifically ritzy Bel-Air, will never be the same.
Sound fun? It should.
Meet Dani. You’ll play her with the end goal of reaching an evactuation center south of your current location. There’s blood all over the streets and the dead are eating from trash pales. You’re equipped immediately with a knife.
Now, we should note, you don’t have to be Dani. Dani is used in the Game Play release, but there are five other “slayers” you can use.
Dead Island 2 is a bloody, violent, gory traverse through a world that’s gone completely mad. Its beyond the point of any return.
The graphics are stunning, vibrant, and super realistic. There’s so much compelling details that encapsulates every chaotic, terrifying scene. Check them out.
There’s a ton of weapons at your disposal, including guns, hammers, crossbows, machetes – it’s your basic horror flick weaponry lineup. You’ll be able to annihilate some of these roaming LA zombies that want to eat your brains (and your old In and Out leftovers).
The combat scenes appear ferocious and leave nothing to the imagination. Everything gets smashed and there’s constantly blood staining streets and gutters. Its apocalyptic terror that immerses you in fast-action survival mode at all times.
Dead Island 2 appears to be on the brink of one of the top immersive games out there, but clearly, we’ll have to wait and play it ourselves before pinning it with any awards. However, this gameplay is truly insane.
Dead Island 2 will work on PS4/5, Xbox One, Xbox Series X/S, Windows.
