A new video game based on The Walking Dead’s popular TV show has arrived. But it’s apparently not very good. And gamers are taking notice.
Titled, The Walking Dead Destinies, the game attempts to replicate the horror, apocalyptic vibes of the show. The game was pretty hyped over the months with fans of the show hoping for another amazing apocalyptic gaming experience.
But they failed to get that. Users are reporting everything from technical issues to cheap graphics plays to all around confusion with the plot.
“Welcome to the apocalypse,” and thus, it begins. And your Rick Grimes lost and confused in a room that you need to get out of.
He’s awakened in a hospital. There’s lots of flashing.
Because the title is “Destinies,” you can change the destiny of other players.
Rick hobbles about in the opening scenes. It’s a bit awkward. But maybe we’re being a bit nit picky. There’s a lot of blood and gore signaling something bad happened. And it’s emulated the storyline from the first show.
The character doesn’t really look like Rick. It almost feels as if there wasn’t that much effort.
But the worst is the part of the game where Rick learns he’s lost wife Laurie. The developers seemingly make no effort to animate instead opting to use still images that resemble a cheap Powerpoint slide show.
Look at Rick’s face. I mean…
The dialogue / narration throughout the game tries super hard to feel dramatic. But it’s overtly cheesy.
Everything from the game’s low-grade graphics to its shoddy movements to its low quality audio make this one of the worst video game adaptions we’ve seen.
The Walking Dead Destinies doesn’t fit in with the modern gaming in any way. We doubt this goes on to be any sort of success.
