Its the big stressful question.
Will GTA 6 cost $150 when it finally arrives on shelves?
There’s a lot of folks who believe so, but nothing is confirmed (yet).
The going rate for high-end games currently stands at $69.99. And that doesn’t count special editions and such. But the trend in gaming pricing, much like all goods, services, and products, is definitely up.
Now many gamers believe that Rockstar’s latest installation of the much-anticipated GTA 6 will cost upwards of $150.
So, let’s get down to the facts. Yes, we know, the Internet despises facts, but in this case, they are important.
Rockstar Games hasn’t stated what the GTA 6 price might or will be. The rumors are derived from the knowledge that Rockstar’s GTA 6 production and development budget is upwards of $2 million. And that’s got folks speculating they’ll be forced to pass a near double title cost down to us lowly consumers.
Social media channels far and wide are running with the rumor that has many gamers in a tizzy. But again, none of this is beyond any juncture of speculation. It’s all the rumor mill at work.
GTA 5 is currently the top selling game EVA. So it stands to reason that GTA 6 will crush sales. Although, doubling the price will certainly hinder some percentage of sales. If that happens, of course.
GTA 6 will be set in Vice City, a fictionalized version of Miami, Florida, in the 1980s. The story will follow two playable characters, a male and a female, who are involved in a Bonnie and Clyde-style criminal relationship. The game will feature a more realistic and detailed depiction of the criminal underworld than previous GTA games, and will also explore themes of corruption and greed.
