The latest and greatest GTA, which is GTA 6, is likely about to hit shelves (or at least, consoles). GTA 6 rumors are all over the place, however, we do expect a launch sooner than later given Rockstar’s massive investment into the build. Yeah, they gotta print some money and start paying it off. And it may turn out to be one of the most expensively produced games of all time.
But enough about that.
So let’s talk about the map and why it’s seemingly much more expansive.
GTA 6 appears to be taking us back to Vice City, the scene of the 2002 Grand Theft Auto: Vice City installation. And this has a lot of folks excited. There’s a number of familiar locations, including Vice Beach, Malibu Club, and Little Haiti. Most people do believe this is GTA 6’s destination and Rockstar isn’t denying it.
But now a Grand Theft Auto fan with some apparently wonderful compass skills is asserting that this Vice City is a way bigger experience than Grand Theft Auto V (2002).
LivingSignificant555, as they go by on Reddit, posted this map in a Reddit thread which layers both versions.
” The gta v map is placed on the exact rage coordinates that it has in game and I have it placed accurate to about +- 50 units in each direction on X and Y.” He said of the map.
“Some notes:If you take the highest and lowest confirmed Y coordinates in GTA VI from the videos the map is already just over 1,000 rage units longer than the gta V map.If you take the highest and lowest confirmed X coordinates in GTA VI from the videos the map is already over 2,300 rage units longer than gta V map.
Keep in mind this is just the highest and lowest X and Y based off of coordinates shown in the video locations. There is an very very high chance that it could go hundreds if not thousands of coordinates further in each X and Y direction due to none of the video clips showing or being near a clear world border.”
Moreover, there’s potential that the map would actually end up being larger, not smaller, than the hypothesis above.
The hype for GTA 6 is like we’ve never seen. Right now, rumors are swirling for an end of October launch. Maybe the larger, more expansive Vice City, is the reason for the delays. That’s a lot of crime to manage, folks.
