What is VR Kanojo and Is It Worth It?

VR Kanojo is found in the Steam adult section. This means you need be 18+ in age and have your Steam settings allowing adult content. VR Kanojo is a pretty popular game but yet still, many people don’t know much about it. Although, it is considered one of the top Steam adult games. We’re going to resolve that in our VR Kanojo review.

VR Kanojo – Starting Out

Firstly, VR Kanojo, as the name’s acronym suggest, is a virtual reality game. This means you’ll absolutely need one of the better VR headsets if you intend to play it. We’re talking Oculus Rift, Windows Mixed Reality, and HTC Vive. We’re not sure about Playstation VR 2, maybe someone can answer that in the comments.

As mentioned, VR Kanojo leverages adult themes and visuals throughout play. It’s a hentai illustration experience, but the artwork focuses on a tinge of realism as it features human-like traits.

This is a girlfriend simulator at the end of the day.

In essence, you’re in a relationship with a girl. She’s a bit on the submissive side of things. She talks and moves around a room and your able to interact with her and the room using your VR capabilities. This means you can use virtual hands via your VR hand remotes.

There’s no big plot here. You and her are in a room together. Here’s the room:

There’s a decent amount of detail and the vibe is sunny and warm, which is nice. There’s a tablet she can use. The tablet often has messages giving you minor tasks.

There’s lots of books. Kanojo is on her way, you’re job is to wait and she’ll bring you snacks and tea (or something like that).

You also have a phone. It’s unclear if it is yours or hers.

You can open drawers, clearly. There’s a lot to explore in Kanojo’s room, including her outfits, which helps you better understand her personality.

When she finally enters the room, her dialogue flanks the bottom of the screen. Otherwise, you can’t understand her. That seems to be more where the game went economical rather than invest in versatile voice overs.

Kanojo’s voice and movements are energetic. She never stops talking or moving around the room, often with the intent of showing you things. Most of the books are written in something you can’t read. So you’re mostly confused during these interactions.

Overall, this is a “get what you see” experience. Staying in the room full-time can feel a bit claustraphobic, but that’s also how a lot of these VR dating simulators play out. You’re either into it or you’re not.

As mentioned and as you can equally see, the graphics are pretty good. A VR dating simulator without quality graphics is pretty worthless. That’s not the case with Kanojo, there is definitely effort put into the graphics side of things.

The movements around the room are responsive, meaning, whether you are turning, using your hands, or looking in different areas, it all unfolds in seamless, unobstructed manner.

Kanojo a more than decent play on VR dating in the Steam adult section.
