GTA 6 Trailer Arrives: Internet Unanimously Rejoices

“Long-awaited” doesn’t do justice to GTA 6’s trailer debut. The new GTA 6 trailer has arrived and it arrived in style.

Using Tom Petty’s “Love is a Long Road” as the backdrop music and scenes from a revamped Vice City. As well, we have our first GTA female protagonist.

There’s a lot going on here.

First, Rockstar Games got beat to their own launch. A Twitter account, which has been suspended, released the trailer yesterday which was a day earlier than Rockstar said they’d drop it. We assume the suspension an the leak are in fact, related, but we can’t confirm. This forced Rockstar’s hand to go ahead and release the trailer in an attempt to control the narrative.

GTA VI is now set to release in 2025.

Folks, it’s been ten years. Ten grueling years of waiting this latest GTA installation. And judging by the trailer, its gonna be somewhat worth that wait.

The GTA 6 trailer features a south Florida vibe, with airboats traversing the Everglades, fast cars zooming over bridges, and a protagonist woman named Lucia. She initially greets us wearing prison garb and seemingly talking with a parole officer. She has a boyfriend, as well, giving way to the anticipated Bonnie and Clyde experience.

Grand Theft Auto VI heads to the state of Leonida, home to the neon-soaked streets of Vice City and beyond in the biggest, most immersive evolution of the Grand Theft Auto series yet,” Rockstar says.

The trailer offers us a vibrant carefree landscape with dark undertones. The graphics look dope.

The announcement of Grand Theft Auto VI has been accompanied by several instances of leaked information. Notably, earlier this year, a young individual from the UK was identified as being behind the distribution of 90 development videos from the game last year. More recently, a TikTok video emerged, allegedly showcasing leaked footage from the game, purported to have been obtained from a child of a Rockstar employee. These TikTok videos, still accessible at the time of this report, display footage of a computer monitor presenting broad views of the game’s environment.
