People need their GTA 6, but things are getting murky on the launch date front. Previously, we assumed that GTA 6 would launch near the end of October. This was of course, a guess, but an educated one.
As the end of October approaches, all is silent on the GTA6 front. Those with fingers on the gaming industry pulse felt strongly that the launch would happen towards the end of this month. But that prediction is looking bleak at best.
One Reddit user is suggesting that the launch may be delayed due to Xbox Series S demands.
Do you think the Xbox Series S will hold back GTA 6 in any way? I don’t mean to throw any shade or start some s****y console war, but the Series S is clearly more powerful than the PS4 and Xbox One but not as powerful as the PS5 and Xbox Series X. Just wanted to know what everyone’s thoughts [are] on this.”
So what’s this mean?
Well, Xbox Series S offers less power, which means GTA 6 may not be able to compensate for its inadequacies; thus, holding back the launch.
Senor_Tortuga308 wrote, “Surely they could just reduce NPC density, turn off ray tracing, cap at 30fps for that console and it should be fine,” while SoftwareFamiliar5908 added, “Maybe GTA 6 will take advantage of the super resolution feature within the Xbox series RDNA 2 features, so internally the game could run at 720p but the super resolution can make it look like 1440p with no hit to performance and graphical quality.”
Or maybe all this hoopla is just conspiracy theories rising from the lack of communication by Rockstar? This is, of course, how conspiracy theories gain roots. When people have no answers, they’ll come up with their own.
But hey, October ain’t over. So maybe there’s a happy Halloween ending for GTA fans still in store. Rockstar often grows silent prior to major GTA launches. And its definitely quiet.
