Steam is one of the biggest gaming platforms in the world. And yes, Steam allows porn games, so we tend to follow them. Unless of course, you’re Holodexxx (but alas, I digress).
There’s a new game that’s racking up subscribers in monumental fashion. No, it’s not adult oriented, but it’s popularity is pretty mindnumbing.
Stunlock Studios’ V Rising, a vampire style game, hit the coveted 500,000 players mark. The studio launched the V Rising on May 17th, making the milestone player total all the more impressive.
It’s official! 500,000 Vampires out there have stepped foot into Vardoran! Thank you all for joining us on this journey! pic.twitter.com/35pLD6DQW2

This is a multi-player survival game where you’ll collect items to help you build weapons. Your weapons should progress as your acumen for collecting items and goods evolves. This is pretty typical multi-player survival game, however, the vampire twist is simply bad ass.
This survival style game does require you have a PC to play. But clearly, that hasn’t stopped a whole lot of folks from getting in on the bloodletting action. The awesome feat hasn’t been without hiccups. The game reportedly experienced downtime, but developers seemed to resolve the mishap.
In V Rising, you’ll “lurk in the shadows” whilst daylight beams down, but at night, you’ll prey on people. Hey, you’re a vampire, that’s some shadey sh&$.
All of your opportunities come following sundown. They include raiding homes and combating supernatural monsters and, you know, leaching some blood. You’ll hunt your victims.
You must navigate tons of threats. Creatures. Vampire hunters. Sun. Garlic. Oh, and other vampire players depending on which server you select.
You’ll build a massive vampire castle.
Basically, V Rising’s graphics are stunning and colossal and ultimately, immersive. It’s an incredible visual experience that pulls and tugs at your deepest, darkest fears.
The artwork reflects a deeply ‘goth’ experience using dark, shadowy ecosystems often with fire, candle-light, or bulb lighting serving as centerpieces.
Given all we’ve seen, there’s not much surprise in V Rising’s meteoric rise. That said, we must believe a porn version is in the making because that’s how this stuff works. We’ll wait.
Those interested in giving V Rising a go and expressing their inner-vampire can grab V Rising here on Steam.
