PS5 Is About To Get a Massive Revamp

We know, we know, you’re all about that PS6. But guess what? The PS5 Pro could well be the PlayStation to have if any of the new rumors about a revamp are true.

The PS5 Pro, yes, the upgrade to the PS5, could offer incredibly powerful graphics like we’ve not seen before.

And it may be out as early as this year. Let’s say it does indeed arrive in September, the upgraded PlayStation will reportedly offer high-end, futuristic graphics that are so innovative, PS5 Pro likely becomes the console to have.

How do we know all of this?

Well, of course there’s a leak online.

We are talking about 67 teraflops of power and a potent APU boosting that helps with AI. As a point of reference, the PS5 has 10.28 Tflops. Um, that’s an insane upgrade in power most definitely puts the PS5 Pro in the conversation as a top gaming console.

But let’s get into some even more boring technical stuff that results in, well, more superb performance.

The PS5 Pro could more than double its ray tracing output.

What is ray tracing?

Glad you asked.

Ray tracing is a rendering technique that simulates the way light interacts with objects. This is process makes your graphics dope, to say the least. Ray tracing calculates the path of individual light rays as they travel through a scene. This includes how the rays interact with surfaces, whether they’re absorbed, reflected, or refracted.

So, if PS5 Pro at minimum doubles ray tracing output, it would significantly improve how the console handles complex calculations in overall ray tracing, which means much higher fidelity in reflections and shadows. As well, the hardware would encounter less strain in concern with overall resources. This means vastly increased capabilities and a major leap forward in teh console’s graphical rendering power.

You get all that? If not, just know, if PS5 Pro rumors are true, this thing will churn potent graphics out and probably be an all around performance beast.

Imagine playing some of the latest top games on this beastly machine?

Alas, but there is more.

Another rumor from the video above is that the PS5 Pro could uses what’s known as image reconstruction that would math frame rate boosting results that Nvidia has achieved with its Deep Learning Super Sampling tech. The PS5 Pro will call it’s version PlayStation Spectral Super Resolution.

If these rumors are true, the PS5 Pro is gonna wreak havoc on the console industry. And likely cost a heck of a lot more.
